Description
MGF Mechano Growth Factor (5MG)
MGF (mechano growth factor) has gained popularity among bodybuilders and athletes in recent years. Following resistance exercise, the muscle releases IGF-1, which triggers the splicing of the IGF-I gene towards MGF. This process occurs immediately after mechanical muscle usage, initiating hypertrophy and repair of local muscle damage. MGF achieves this by activating muscle stem cells and satellite cells, as well as through various other anabolic mechanisms. Its distinctive C-Terminal sequence sets it apart from “regular” IGF-1.
In a rodent study, a single intramuscular injection of MGF led to a remarkable 25% increase in mean muscle fiber cross-sectional area within three weeks. By comparison, liver-derived IGF-1 required four months to produce a 15% increase using a similar protocol. Additionally, it appears that younger individuals respond more effectively to MGF, while older individuals experience diminished responsiveness, resulting in a reduced ability to stimulate the growth of new muscle tissue.
